A torn photograph
corners bent
faded colors
lines
creases
time
has passed and the
photograph remains
a sign-post
of
history.
Marking a moment
passed
and almost
(but not quite)
forgotten.
Lately, I've had several friends share stories about their children coming across photographs of them in their, "younger days." My own girls dug out an old prom photo a week or so ago. "Wow," is all they could say about my 80's bangs! Reliving some memories, both fond and better off forgotten, was the inspiration for this poem.
